March 26th , 2009, 10 Angel Drive, Old Harbour Glades, Old Harbour, St. Catherine: Today, Stephan Reeves, Jamaican born entrepreneur and US business owner, will announce the formation of a new company, Montage Jamaica. Montage Jamaica is a social entrepreneurship venture created to enhance education and technology resources on the Island of Jamaica. Through the introduction of entrepreneurship programs and new technologies to the Island, Montage Jamaica aims to cultivate a new generation of digitally connected Jamaicans, in order to build a population of technologically fit global citizens.
Stephan Reeves, President of Montage Jamaica, commented on the launch of his new venture with the following: “I’m excited about the launch of Montage Jamaica because it will empower Jamaicans and Jamaican institutions, businesses and organizations to continue to reach for their goals by providing the necessary tools and resources to attain them.” Mr. Reeves went on to say, “In these times, Jamaica needs companies like Montage Jamaica, because it is imperative to instill in our citizens the fact that they have viable options to achieve anything in life, and that there are resources to do it!”
As a part of a philanthropic initiative, Montage Jamaica will donate 30 computers that their client, Catapult Learning provided by way of a charitable donation. In the first quarter of 2009, the computers will be donated to the following organizations: Montego Bay YMCA, Paul Allen Foundation, Jamlink.com, Individual families/students, One Way Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Old Harbour, Alpha Step in Montego Bay and Montage Jamaica Cyber location in Old Harbour.
Montage Jamaica’s services include On-Line Educational Curriculum, Technology Training and Entrepreneurial Skills Training and Mentoring. Through our partnership with The Uncommon Individual Foundation (“UIF”), Montage Jamaica will bring “Mentorsphere” to Jamaica! Mentorsphere is a social entrepreneurship website designed by UIF to ‘actively engage mentoring resources in pursuit of their dreams!’ Montage Jamaica has integrated Mentorsphere into our website, creating a forum for Jamaican entrepreneurs to access effective resources to help them materialize their ideas. “The partnership allows us to deliver unmatched mentoring program-services to Jamaican corporations and institutions who strive to gain and/or maintain a competitive edge in the global business environment by creating and executing on-boarding initiatives to attract and retain outstanding talent.” Mr. Reeves adds. Montage is also partnered with Alteva (www.altevatel.com) to provide business-class communications to the island. Alteva's hosted VoIP offering will allow Montage to introduce excellent telecommunications survivability to the hurricane-prone island, as well as great features and low international usage rates. And with crystal-clear service, the Montage Jamaica office sounds like it's right around the corner from the Philadelphia location.
“Montage Jamaica’s services are impressive because they bring an ‘Obamian’ sense of hope. The passion that Stephan (Reeves) exudes when he speaks of Jamaica and Jamaicans is real and we will soon begin to take note” said Sharon H. Burke, Member of Montage Jamaica’s Board of Advisors, and head of Montage Education, a newly formed entity under the reorganized Montage Companies (www.montagecompanies.com).
Stephan Reeves is a Jamaican born entrepreneur who attended Dunrobin Primary and a year at Jamaica College before migrating to the United States in 1987. After graduating from Lehigh University in 1998, Reeves gathered years of business development, sales, consulting and leadership experience, and now anticipates Montage Jamaica to be one of the progressive consulting firms on the Island. His work overseas with the Philadelphia School District, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, over the past five (5) years has laid the foundation allowing Mr. Reeves to develop Montage Jamaica and its unique blend of corporate and community based services.
